Arapaoa Island m\u0101nuka yields an oil with a particularly sweet and pleasant fragrance.<br><br>M\u0101nuka oils typically contain 120 or so different compounds. Properties reported in the scientific literature for some of the main compounds are given below.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alpha-pinene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skin absorption enhancer. Anti-microbial activity.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cadinene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anti-inflammatory activity.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Caryophyllene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anti-fungal and anti-bacterial activity. Anti-inflammatory activity. Possible muscle relaxant. Possible anticarcinogenic agent. Anti-histamine activity. Anti-malarial activity reported.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1,8-Cineole<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skin absorption enhancer. Anti-inflammatory in bronchial asthma. Analgesic activity. Kills lice. Anti-bacterial.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elemene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Possible anti-tumor\/tumor preventative activity.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Limonene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skin absorption enhancer. Lice\/flea killer. Potential anti-tumor\/tumor preventative properties (undergoing testing for treatment of human mammary cancer).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Linalool<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anti-bacterial activity.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Myrcene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non-opiate, non-asprin-like peripheral analgesic (pain-reliever).
